Many waters cannot quench love, neither can floods drown it. What then kills love? Only this: Neglect. Not to see you when you stand before me. Not to think of you in the little things. Not to make the road wide for you, the table spread for you. To choose you out of habit not desire, to pass the flower seller without a thought. To leave the dishes unwashed, the bed unmade, to ignore you in the mornings, make use of you at night. To crave another while pecking your cheek. To say your name without hearing it, to assume it is mine to call. Jeanette Winterson
About This Quote

Many waters cannot quench love, neither can floods drown it. What then kills love? Only this: Neglect. Not to see you when you stand before me. Not to think of you in the little things.

Not to make the road wide for you, the table spread for you. To choose you out of habit not desire, to pass the flower seller without a thought. To leave the dishes unwashed, the bed unmade, to ignore you in the mornings, make use of you at night.

To crave another while pecking your cheek. To say your name without hearing it, to assume it is mine to call. This is a quote from a collection called "Don Quixote" by Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra which was originally published in 1605 in Madrid, Spain and is also known as "The Ingenious Gentleman Don Quixote of La Mancha". It is a compilation of short stories and satirical essays by Cervantes about a noble Spanish gentleman named Don Quixote who sets out on an impossible quest against windmills and giants after being duped by a series of dream visions and misleading books that have convinced him that he has been chosen by God to be a knight-errant and save a local village from oppression.

The story continues through many adventures involving many friends and acquaintances that have both helped and hindered Don Quixote's adventures until he finally comes face to face with his nemesis, Rocinante (Roc), who was an ass-like horse that had been used by Don Quixote as his steed throughout his adventures and had led him astray many times prior to this encounter with Rocinante who had repeatedly tried to correct Don Quixote's delusionary thinking but was only met with further delusionary thinking upon which he eventually stopped trying and stopped trying out of frustration and ended up becoming Don Quixote's sole traveling companion for the remainder of his journey while narrating his experiences for others along the way while also assisting Don Quixote in correcting some misconceptions that he would come across along the way such as having taken up arms against windmills instead of simply riding them or having killed people instead of simply slaying erroneous enemies such as goats or sheep or wild animals such as foxes or wolves etc... which all contributed towards his delusions about himself being a knight errant and helped him become even more delusional than before etc.. etc..
